On Friday 3rd August the Melbourne Cup will be in the Maude Street Mall for people to see, hold and get a photo with. In order to celebrate the visit there will be a jumping castle and racing themed activities on from 12:30pm in the Mall. There will also be a community barbecue offered by Rotary.
Legendary race caller Bryan Martin OAM will visit Shepparton and Nagambie in August as part of the 16th annual Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour.
Loved by both television viewers and radio listeners alike, Martin has over 45 years of race calling experience and received an Order of Australia Award in 2011 for his services to radio and charity. Throughout his career he has called 29 Melbourne Cups, including Makybe Diva’s historic triple winning streak from 2003 – 2005.
While in Shepparton and Nagambie, Martin will take part in a series of community events which will provide locals with the opportunity to get up close with the 18-carat gold trophy.
